As an early Christmas present, we are delighted to be hosting Stephan Preibisch next week. As several of you may know, Stephan Preibisch is the Director of Scientific Computing Software at Janelia and one of the heroes of the bioimage analysis community.

Stephan will give a seminar on "peta-scale electron and light microscopy reconstruction", in which he will talk about his EM efforts to reconstruct images of the entire nervous system of fly, and on how they are now scaling it up to fish and mouse. He will also present their famous lightsheet reconstruction pipeline (BigStitcher-Spark).

You are all cordially invited to attend Stephan's seminar, which will take place in Y55-L-06/08 at 10:00 on Thursday December 19.
